Occupational safety is concerned with the early detection of dangers and ensuring that the endangered person is either warned in time or that the source of the danger, such as a machine, is switched off in time without human intervention.

If an employee is equipped with a transponder that is worn permanently during work and he or she enters the protective magnetic field created by the reader, this is identified by the transponder. The transponder response is then used to switch off the dangerous machine before it causes any harm.
