In recycling plants, baling presses play a crucial role in processing and transporting materials. Employees who work daily on conveyor belts, sorting materials and subsequently compacting them into bales, face a high safety risk. To ensure the safety of employees, U-TECH has developed the innovative personal protection system specifically designed for use with conveyor belts and presses.
Channel baling presses can be life-threatening, especially when employees are working alone. If an employee enters the press chute and cannot stop the pressing process on their own, mechanical safety systems like emergency cords often fail. How can companies prevent such accidents and ensure a safe workplace?
The solution: The U-TECH Press personal protection system, based on state-of-the-art RFID technology. The employee wears a special U-TECH PSM transponder around the wrist or in the work clothing. When the employee enters the danger zone, the antenna module reacts and sends a signal to the central control unit, which then automatically shuts down the machine.
U-TECH PRESS consists of only three modules to be installed:
- The control unit monitors all incoming signals and triggers the automatic shutdown of the machine upon entering the danger zone or in case of a disturbance, such as a UHF receiver failure.
- The antenna module, located on the machine, defines the required danger zone through an electromagnetic field.
- The self-test module is mounted on the system and constantly monitors the stability of the electromagnetic field and the flawless function of the system.
Thanks to the U-TECH Press personal protection system, businesses in the recycling industry can now ensure that their employees are optimally protected when working with baling presses and conveyor belts. With this advanced technology, workplace accidents are avoided, creating a safe working environment for all involved parties.
